Sara Struckmann, M.A., LPC
Sara works well with mood problems, anxiety, substance use problems and trauma. She enjoys helping clients who are struggling with low self-esteem, codependent relationships, and those uncertain about their purpose or direction in life using existential therapy. Sara specializes EMDR, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) and Trauma-informed treatment. She relies heavily on strengths-based approaches such as Motivational Interviewing and Solution Focused Therapy. She also draws on techniques to help clients understand themselves on a deeper level, find meaning in life and break through self-defeating patterns using here-and-now techniques.
Sara completed her Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Kutztown University and has worked in a variety of settings as both a therapist and a clinical supervisor. She has led groups for dual-diagnosis, DBT and LBGTQ groups.
Sara can be described as friendly, knowledgeable and nonjudgmental. She strives to provide patients with an accepting atmosphere where they can feel free to be themselves. When in therapy with Sara, clients tend to experience her as relatable and genuine.
“Everyone deserves a safe, trusting space to come where they are unconditionally accepted, just as they are, in the absence of any judgment. I believe in normalizing the human experience and healing through connection- and a little bit of humor- whenever possible.”
